Sunday School
There are Sunday morning Bible Study classes available for all youth grades 7 through 12. Sunday School is from 9:15 a.m. until 10:15 a.m.
Youth Music
We love music at FBC, and there are several opportunities to offer praise and worship:
Youth Choir- The Youth Choir meets on Sunday afternoon from 4:45 p.m. until 5:30
p.m. in the choir room on the 2nd floor. This group leads in the worship service
each Sunday evening and usually performs two musicals during the year. After
Youth Choir there is a snack supper in the Activities room.
Youth Ensemble- "Wholehearted" is an auditioned youth praise ensemble that helps
lead in worship services and also tours for a week in the summer. Auditions
are held each August for the 12-14 member group.
On Campus Missionary
The OCM Ministry is a new small group that meets weekly after Wednesday night Bible
Study. The students that participate are commissioned each semester to be
missionaries in their respective schools. They are challenged to select two
people to build a relationship with, encourage and share Jesus with during the semester.
Each youth memorizes one verse of Scripture each week for the 15-week semester.
Every meeting is an awesome time of encouragement, accountability, and intense Bible
Study.
Missions
Missions Projects- Our Youth are involved in missions at the local level, regional
level as well as abroad. We have gone on mission trips to places like Nashville,
Detroit, Orlando, Chicago and also as far away as Venezuela and Honduras.
Mission Possible takes place once every month. We visit nursing homes, host
free car washes, and other activities to create witnessing opportunities for our
students.
Wednesday Night
DRIVEN
Youth Bible Study is held each Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. at the Family Life Center.
This is a great time to study the Bible, learn, sing praises, have fun and grow
together.
Afterglow
Once each month, the Youth meet at someone's home or the church after the Sunday
evening worship service for Afterglow. It's a loud, boisterous, great time
of fellowship, games and, of course, more food.
Summer Activities
Summer trips are a big part of our Youth Ministry. In recent years, our Youth
Ministry has been involved in mission trips to Venezuela, Detroit, Orlando, and
Chicago. We also attend Centrifuge Youth Camp to enable our youth to grow
spiritually. Beginning in June and throughout the summer, the Youth meet for
Youth Lunch Bunch each Wednesday and go to a different place to eat together.
Other Activities
Our Youth Winter Retreat is a great time of worship, Bible Study, food and fellowship.
30-Hour Famine is a yearly event held in February at the Grenada Lake Emmaus Camp.
Several youth groups come together for two days of fasting and ministry projects
with a focus on World Hunger.
