2017-2018 Acts 1:8 Mission Offering Final Update

In October of 2017, our church family took a giant step of faith and the origin of the Acts 1:8 offering was established. The change was twofold. We wanted to combine many of our mission offerings in order to have a single focus. Second, we wanted to give more to missions. We set a faith goal of $100,000. This goal was 20% higher than our missions giving in 2016. Our faith and prayer journey started on Nov. 1, 2017 and concluded on Easter April 1, 2018. When all is accounted for, a total of $120,064.42 will have been given to the Acts 1:8 offering!! To God Be the Glory.

Because you gave, $50,000 will be given to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering for International Missions. (That is the most given to Lottie Moon in recent memory and 20% more than in 2016)

- Because you gave, $20,000 will be given to the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering for North American Missions. (That is the most given to Annie Armstrong in recent memory and 25% more than in 2017)

- Because you gave, $10,000 will be given to the Margaret Lackey State Mission Offering. (That is the most given to Margaret Lackey in recent memory and 40% more than in 2017)

- Because you gave, $16,885 will be used for Mission Scholarships. You gave to allow members from FBC to be able to go on Mission Trips to Guatemala, Peru, Ukraine, and other places around the world.

- Because you gave, $5,000 will be given to Mercy Hill Church Plant in Olive Branch, MS. Lawson Harlow serves as pastor. What a privilege to support a former staff member of FBC and to come alongside and help plant a new church for the Kingdom.

- Because you gave, $13,679.42 will be used for Local Missions. What a privilege to invest in our own local community. Each of our adult S.S. classes will have a part in using these funds to minister to our community.

- Because you gave, $1,500 will be given to Training Pastors International. Greg Moore serves in this wonderful ministry of training pastors and leaders in Central and South America.

- Because you gave, $1,500 will be used to purchase water filters to be used in Guatemala.

- Because you gave, $1,500 will be given to Peru Missions. Parish and Jeanne are our missionaries in Peru. They are working with the local seminary and planting churches in and around Trujillo, Peru.

God is so good and worthy of all praise. We praise Him for using us to make a difference in His Kingdom. Let me sum up this journey in three ways:

1.) Take the Step of Faith!!
2.) Pray Fervently!!

3.) Watch the Lord work!!
